Hair Removal by Laser

Monday, August 30th, 2010

Laser hair removal is one of the best ways to get rid of unwanted hair. Most treated areas are legs, bikini line, armpits, upper lip and chin, but that does not mean you can’t remove unwanted hair in any area of the body.
The way Laser hair removal works is by having a laser go through the skin to individual hairs with a pulsating beam of light, the heat of the laser damages the follicle which eventually will slow down future hair growth.
Laser hair removal works best for people with dark hair and light skin because the laser will target the melanin (pigment) in the hair. Hair removal by laser is not recommended for dark skinned people because it may affect the pigment of the skin. Even though laser hair removal will slow down the hair growth, there is no guarantee for permanent hair removal and will take several treatments to get a longer hair free period.

What kind of results should you expect?

The results of the Laser hair removal will be different from person to person and it is recommended to have several treatments at least four to six times, and even then it is not guaranteed for your hair not to grow back and may need additional treatments maybe once or twice a year.

What are common problems with Laser Hair Removal

The skin can lighten or darken in the treated areas but more often on darker skin especially if an incorrect laser setting is used normally it will be only temporary.

Some people experience some skin irritations after Laser treatments, like scabbing and crusting which normally go away after the skin has a chance to heal.

What is the cost of Laser hair removal?

It all depends on the area that is treated, the smaller the area the less it will cost, a Laser hair removal treatment can cost somewhere between $150 and $1000. There are Laser hair removal systems you can purchase for a fraction of the cost.

Introducing Dermasal Tattoo Removal

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010

There are several tattoo removal cream products available for consumers to choose from these days.  Today I’d like to introduce you to one particular brand of tattoo removal cream called Dermasal.  Dermasal is made by a company by the name of New Tech Healthcare based out of Baton Rouge Louisiana.   The company claims that their product is manufactured with all natural ingredients and that it is considered generally safe for use on humans by the FDA.

The Dermasal product is a three step system.  The first step is to apply their Dermasal Soothing Agent™  to the tattoo that you want to have removed.   The second step is to apply their Dermasal Topical Solution™  to the tattoo.  The third step is to apply their Dermasal Protectant Gel™ to the tattoo.

The company claims that the product can effectively remove a tattoo in 3 to 18 months.  The factors that determine the length of time you will need to use the product are your individual skin type, how deeply the original tattoo was given, how much ink is in the tattoo, and how large the tattoo is.

The company also claims that dermasal can remove any color of tattoo ink equally well. While they claim that it is safe for even the most sensitive areas of the body, the company does not recommend using it on the face or pubic areas.

For a one month supply of Dermasal, you will pay about $82.00. You can purchase a six month supply for $292.  This works out to about $1.96 a day for one month supply and $1.62 a day if you purchas the six month supply.  You’ll save a little bit of money if you purchase the six month supply.  Not only will the product cost you less but you won’t have to pay shipping charges when your reorder the product each month if you are buying a one month supply at a time.

Face Lift Creams Vs. Surgical Procedures

Saturday, August 21st, 2010

Botox treatment involves many risks. One example is that if the shot is injected too close to vital eye muscles, it will likely result in sagging or drooping. Further issues that often are a result of Botox treatment are nausea, muscle fatigue, heartburn, and difficulty of swallowing.

Good news! It is feasible now to achieve that firm, glowing, wrinkle free skin look without undergoing Botox treatment.  This is by using instant face lift creams regularly. Users have reported that they don’t just look younger but they also feel younger. The cream simply works by lifting and firming the skin while reducing its fine lines.  If dry and dull skin is your problem, you can also use this cream because it moisturizes your skin back to its normal features and at the same time gives you that youthful glow.

Vitamins, nutrients, and phytochemicals are some of the ingredients that you look for in a natural cream. Speaking of which, vitamin E and A, are very good for naturally rejuvenating your skin, which is good for your whole body. Aloe Vera is also one of the ingredients you want to see in a face lift cream. This is an all natural, very powerful, plant substance that is very helpful in skin healing.  It will have to be used for a lengthy period to achieve desired results.

Instant face lift is a brilliant option if you are after saving money or just avoiding cosmetic surgeries and its dangers. It is significant to keep in mind your expectations when using these alternatives because the result you get from an instant face lift is not as remarkable as compared to undergoing cosmetic surgery or Botox injections. This is in a way beneficial to people as it doesn’t require you to answer uncomfortable questions like many surgical procedures do. Probably the disadvantage for most people using these products is the required additional time of your day needing for doing your skin care routine in order to stay effective. So, good luck to whatever type of face lift you decide is best for you!

Gummy Bear Breast Implants

Saturday, August 21st, 2010

Deformation and rupturing are two critical issues of breast enhancement. The traditional saline or silicone breast implant, while modern and advanced, is still risky. Recently, however, an alternative called gummy bear implants have been approved for use by the FDA. Officially known as a cohesive breast implant, this kind of implant holds its shape better, and is rupture and deformation resistant, because the silicone inside is cross linked. In fact, the nickname “gummy bear implants” is derived from the gummy bear candy, because an implant feels like the candy when cut open.

This means that the silicone is less liquid, and more like a thick gel, which should ideally be a better choice than traditional saline or silicone when it comes to keeping its integrity. For example, if a gummy bear implant is sliced in half, there will be no gross movement or spillage of the gel. Rather, the implant, along with the shell and the contents, will maintain its shape.

In addition, because the contents of the implant do not shift and move radically, no folding or rippling occurs. Breasts with traditional implants will usually display some sort of creases and folds that are visible on the skin. But with gummy bear implants, this is not a big problem.

But there are downsides to gummy bear implants’ advantages. Because the silicone is a thick gel, the implants look and feel more solid than traditional implants. Many critics of this implant describe the breasts like they are half cantaloupes bolted on to the chest. The natural bounce and movement of the breasts are not present, and while this is a problem for most breast enhancers, it is even more so for gummy bear implants.

And because they are more firm and solid, they cannot be inserted into the breast through the traditional means of using small incisions. Traditionally, implants are inserted through the areola, but this is not possible with gummy bear implants.

Advancements in technology, however, have resulted in newer and better ways of inserting implants into the body. A technique called transumbilical breast augmentation, or TUBA, makes the navel the entry point of the breast implant, allowing the scar to be hidden in a fold of the belly button. Unfortunately, this example of advanced breast implant insertion is only available for saline inflatable breast implants, wherein the shell of the implant is rolled up and guided to the chest. It is there that the shell is filled with saline to achieve the desired size.

The Cellulite Laser: Do Not Blame The Laser

Saturday, August 21st, 2010

Cellulite tends to find its way on to the legs, buttocks and hips. When cellulite starts to fester, it can be very difficult to get rid of. Just ask Jackie.

Jackie lived about three houses away from me. She was very popular because she had a small restaurant that made the best food within a 10 mile radius. Jackie’s Food Den was the name of her establishment and so popular was her restaurant that Jackie appeared on a television show after her culinary skills became so talked about in the state. It appeared as though her customers were not the only ones eating her food.

Jackie was short but stocky looking. She had a weird shape but definitely for her 5 foot tall self she was way too heavy. I guess when she cooked her delicious foods she would sample them just a little too much. Jackie was however well aware of her over weight condition and the cellulite that dripped from her legs bothered her.

She decided to get a cellulite laser treatment. I remember the day she told me about her plans. She was very excited. She had done her research and decided that the cellulite laser was for her. After a few sessions, Jackie was cellulite free and loving it, but, she never altered her diet.

In a very short space of time Jackie was cellulite full again. She saw me one day and started to criticize the cellulite laser, the person who invented it (whoever that was) and the doctor that did the procedure. It was then I had to explain to her that cellulite exercises and diet were essential in the battle against cellulite. She was in such a rage that my comments meant nothing to her. Jackie would remain short and fat and cellulite ridden after that. I guess she got used to the lumps of fat.

Spray Tans Are A Great Invention

Saturday, August 21st, 2010

Spray tansare a wonderful, skin saving option to the regular tan. They can be just as cost effective as tanning, but do not harm the skin. Another benefit is once you have a spray tan done, it lasts up to six weeks. Which in turn means there is less maintenance to be done. There are many ways in which a spray tan can be done. A person could go to a tanning salon or it can be done at home. Not only are sprays available for a faux tan, but creams are as well.

When getting spray tanning done, it is important to keep a few things in mind. Before getting this tan you should be sure to bathe and exfoliate the skin. While the process takes place be sure to wear goggles or keep your eyes shut. You do not want the spray to enter your body through your mouth, eyes, or ears. After you have applied the spray on your entire body, you will want to be still for about ten minutes. This is so that the spray won’t run off and cause you to look streaked. There are certain areas of the body where less spray can be applied this includes creases or bends such as the elbows and knees. There are other ways to get a sunless tan, such as tanning pills. These should not be used as they are not safe.

When it comes to streaking and getting the most even tan, your best bet is to have someone besides yourself apply the spray. Not only that but to use a spray tan machine. You may have to test out a few spray tan options before you find one you like, Some formulas will last longer than and some may cause irritation to the skin.

Apple Cider Vinegar Cures For Acne

Monday, August 16th, 2010

Apple cider vinegar is a highly alkaline remedy containing many essential trace minerals. All foods and beverages have either an acid ph or an alkaline PH, with very few falling in the neutral range. Some experts believe that many of the health benefits of this remedy stem from its high alkaline content, since medical experts state an acidic ph can cause numerous health problems.

One of the most popular uses for this natural cure is the treatment of acne. One feature, which makes apple cider vinegar for acne extremely effective, is the way it functions as a detoxifying agent. It also contains elements that purify the skin and help to reduce the overall appearance of pimples, with some users of this remedy stating it completely eliminated their acne.

Sometimes this treatment is used two different ways at the same time. With this method, it is applied to the face as a topical agent, and it is also consumed by the individual. When consumed, it helps to flush toxins to the surface of the face where they can be washed away. When applied directly, it is very effective in balancing the ph of the skin, which is an important factor in the treatment of acne, as a healthier PH helps to reduce flare-ups.

Apple cider vinegar has naturally occurring alpha-hydroxy acids, which are found in some prescription acne medications. Many consumers who have used both treatments state that they achieved the same result from the aforementioned remedy as the prescription medication, and this being the case, chose the later option since it is a natural cure. In rare cases, allergies may be present, so if any unusual symptoms occur, an individual should discontinue use and seek medical advice.

As with any natural remedy, results vary from person to person, however, many people have achieved success with natural apple cider vinegar cures. If in doubt, one should consult a doctor or dermatologist before beginning any treatment, in order to make sure it is in his or her best interest.

What Options Do Women Have For Facial Hair Removal?

Monday, August 16th, 2010

Almost every women has facial hair, most of these women feel embarrassed to speak about this.  If the hair is unnoticeable, small and have a light color there is no problem, but if you have excess hair growth or if the hair is dark, then it is a matter of concern. You can see facial hair on areas like the chin, forehead, upper lip and jaws. Facial hair removal for women can be done in multiple ways, in this article i will show you a couple of them.

You do not have to worry if you have excess facial hair because there are many methods to remove that unwanted facial hair. The most convenient and the most common method is waxing. Melted wax is applied to the area where hair is to be removed. The hair gets affixed to one place due to the wax, then the hair is pulled in the opposite direction of hair growth and the application is removed. Waxing is done easily and quickly, one big downside of waxing is that it can be very painful.

Sugar waxing is done in the same manner as traditional waxing. In this procedure sugary paste is applied to the desired area and later the application is removed after it gets dried off. The sugar solution is more soluble in water compared to other waxy substances, so this is preferred by many women.

Threading or tweezing is another method by which facial hair is removed. If you want to do this yourself you need to know it requires a lot of practice. It is better to dampen the area using cotton or wool or take a bath before tweezing as the skin becomes softer and it is much easier for removal of facial hair. A pair of tweezers is needed for this process. The hair shaft should be long for doing this process.

Bleaching is also an option if you have dark facial hair, if these hairs are thick or dense than it is not an option. Shaving should never be done as this makes the hair on the removed area to grow back thicker and more noticeable. You may get a masculine look and no women wants that.

Hair inhibitors are also available in the market, know that these do not remove the hair but prevent the hair from further growth. One of the permanent hair removal methods is electrolysis. Hair follicles are destroyed by an electric current. This treatment shows very good results but is also one of the more expensive ones. You pay about $45-$65 per 30 minute sessions.

Removal of facial hair by laser is the best technique that can be followed. Hair can be removed permanently. It should be done only by trained professionals as you can get scars if you are careless. Expect to pay about $200-$1000 per session depending on how big the area is that needs to be done and how much treatments you need.

You now know what kind of options you have for facial hair removal. You can try the cheaper ones one by one and see which one works the best for you. One final notice for women who pluck their eyebrows regularly: stop over plucking! If you pluck your eyebrows to often (eyebrow plucking starts at a very young age nowadays) it can result in  having no eyebrows  at an middle age. Having an eyebrow restoration can be the only option for you then, so be careful for your eyebrows.

Affordable Liposuction

Monday, August 16th, 2010

If you want affordable liposuction, you have to move around to find it. It Is possible to get the most affordable liposuction if you know where to look for it. On an average, Liposuction costs anywhere between $1000 to $10,000 depending on the part of the body you want to have done. If you want to have liposuction on legs and calves, it is about $1,000 to $2,000 cheaper than liposuction done on a larger area like tummy or abdomen.

The smaller the area and the less fat you have to take away the smaller the price. Geography also plays a big part on the price of liposuction. Abdominal liposuction in Portland can cost about $3,000 but a leg or calf liposuction might cost $1,000 cheaper and cost only $2,000. In a huge and busy city like New York, the former might cause $8,000 and the latter might cause $6,000. You have to note that geography, the cost of living and the law of supply and demand in the market region may affect the price of liposuction. As an example, there maybe more people in New York as it is a fashion capital would get liposuction and the competition for it, drive the prices up.While less people in Portland, Oregon would even bother to get the procedure done and so the prices are lower there.

However, always remember that the price is only one determining factor in choosing the right surgeon to do the job. Cheap and affordable cosmetic surgery may be just what it is- cheap- therefore you may not get the best kind of service or you might get a less qualified doctor to do the surgery which poses more risk for you. Remember that you only get what you pay for. You have to be careful with how you choose the provider for your surgery .

Choose the Best Eye Cream

Monday, August 16th, 2010

It is a highly challenging preposition choosing the best eye cream available in the market. The task is complicated due to hundreds of eye creams in the market and going through the labels can be equally confusing and we tend to spend a fortune on products that really do not work for us.

When we analyze, we find that most of the eye cream we find in stores deal with dark circles and puffy eyes apart from sagging skin and eye wrinkles. As we get older, most of us face the problem of puffy eyes and dark circles. We then start hunting around for the best eye cream for dark circles, sagging skin and eye bags. The fragility of our skin results from aging and first manifests around your eyes making it vital to choose the best eye cream and ensure positive results.

Our skin becomes thinner with aging and dark circles under our eyes result from blood vessels that show through it. Good news is you do not have to resort to extreme measures such as plastic surgery today with the variety of good quality eye cream available.

As you venture choosing the best eye cream, there are a few steps to be followed –

  • In addition to your eye wrinkles, determine which problem troubles you the most – dark circles or puffy eyes.
  • Choose physician grade products that have greater levels of active ingredients specifically addressing your problem.
  • If you suffer from both dark circles and puffy eyes, it is highly recommended to choose an all round eye cream that can treat both conditions simultaneously.

Good quality eye creams, whether it is for puffiness or eye cream dark circles or even for both, must contain a few important active ingredients including Copper Peptides, AHA or Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Retinol, Caffeine and Vitamin C to help stimulate collagen growth and tighten the skin.

Eye cream for dark circles must necessarily include ingredients such as Kojic Acid, Vitamin K and Vitamin C or Licorice skin lightening active. These eye creams for dark circles help make the capillary walls in the delicate eye area strong.

If you are looking for an all round eye cream that can target dark circles, puffiness, sagging and wrinkles, you can find products that include a combination of these ingredients. Research on the internet or consult your doctor before choosing a high quality specialist eye cream for quick and effective results for healthy skin.

Lipodissolve Costs

Monday, August 16th, 2010

The cost of beauty is very expensive -especially if you want instant results. If you want to get slimmer instantly, liposuction is the best way to do so. However, this surgery costs an arm and a leg to get done. In addition to pain in the wallet, liposuction is also a painful surgery and costs a lot of time before you get back to your normal routine.

So, is there any other choice? I want to get slimmer now, and if possible, for a cheaper cost.
Lipodissolve is a non-invasive alternative to liposuction that uses a series of medicated injections to the area you want to slim down and what these do is that they liquefy the fat and send them out through the patient’s urine. Lipodissolve is not only almost painless, but it doesn’t require a long recovery time. The most important point is that lipodissolve costs only a fraction of the cost of having liposuction surgery done.
The prices depend on which part of your body would get the treatment done. The cost of lipodissolve is minimal compared to the costs that would accumulate if you were to get liposuction done. Since it is an outpatient treatment, it eliminates a significant amount of your hospital bills. For one thing, the anesthesiologists and the operating room expenses will disappear. Medicines would cost less because since there is almost no pain there would be no need for these additional fees.

To minimize the cost of lipodissolve, some doctors even provide financing for those who want to get it done now and pay later. Like in liposuction, lipodissolve costs would be dependent upon how the size of the area that the treatment is being applied to. If you are interested in getting your lipodissolve sessions, you should speak to your doctor about the available financing and payment schemes that would suit you best.

Chemical Peel for Beautiful Facial Skin

Saturday, August 14th, 2010

If you’re like most people, you’re probably quick to notice small flaws in your skin. Perhaps you have a small discolored spot somewhere on your face that bothers you, but it nearly undetectable to others. It is human nature to be overly critical of oneself. Regardless, as we begin to age our skin begins to deteriorate in a number of respects. First off, it begins to lose its elasticity. Wrinkles and fine lines begin to develop, the surface of the skin becomes more coarse and finally our skin tone seems uneven. Some people are able to live with these changes and move on with their lives. Others are slightly bothered by these pesky signs of aging, and quickly start searching for where to buy glycolic acid 35% gel peel 30ml professional for cheap or a similar anti-aging product. Finally there are those who seek treatment with chemical peels.

Chemicals peels can treat a number of problems all at once. Not only can they remove hyperpigmentation spots, but they can also soften wrinkles and lighten your skin to create a younger appeal to your face. This would otherwise require treatment with anything but cheap hydroquinone cream and topical retinoids. The procedure itself is rather simple and only requires about half an hour at the most. As you might expect, this really depends on the type of chemical peel you are getting. When you discuss your treatment objectives with your provider, they will be able to determine how mild or aggressive the acidic agents used to treat your skin should be.

Alpha hydroxy acids, for instance, are usually preferred for less invasive techniques. They allow for quicker recovery time and less irritation and sensitivity to sunlight. However, for maximum effect the patient may require multiple treatments. They may even have to take on a daily skin treatment regimen with the acids to gradually achieve their desired look.

Once the peeling chemical has been decided on, the patient’s face is cleaned and the acid is applied to their face. Usually, no anesthesia is required. Once the acid has been allowed to penetrate for 10-15 minutes, it is cleaned off and the patient is sent on their way home. They will be warned to stay out of the sun and to abstain from other activities until their skin has fully healed. Their doctor may even recommend some pain reduction medication in case they experience discomfort later on in the day.

While this procedure is not particularly dangerous, it can cause harm if performed by an inept provider. This is why you should rely on referrals from trusted sources while searching for a provider. Laws that govern who can perform procedures of this nature will vary depending on jurisdiction, so it is best to conduct some research before going hunting for an aesthetician.

4 Diet Tips to Improve Your Skin

Saturday, August 7th, 2010

Do you constantly find yourself having to deal with oily skin like me, which usually leads to a frustrating regular amount of blackheads and face acne.  You often try to get a face care routine going, but it doesn’t seem to have the impact on the problem you want.  One thing that you can do to help things go your way is to look at changing some of the things which you eat on a regular basis.  When you’re busy or stressed, often the diet is one of the first thing that loses out.  If you really want to take a stand against getting any more skin flaws, it’s key that your diet is good.

There really aren’t any laws as such for diets that reduce acne.  It’s more a process of trialling foods that may or may not be helping you to get acne free.  As with most diets, it helps for you to be OCD.  I am not even close to being able to be strict, so I usually just clear out my cupboards of things which I don’t want to eat.  It is usually recommended that you take some vitamins or another type of diet supplement to boost the range of vitamins, especially if you are deficient in zinc.

Basic Tips

  • By cutting out processed foods such as flours, sugars, fats, and salt, you will be making a good start.
  • Alcohol and caffeine are also things that you should probably try to cut out of your diet first.
  • Of course, substituting this stuff is important, so ensure you always have a ready supply of fruit, veg and healthy snacks so you don’t get tempted.
  • My favourite type of carbs are legumes – chick peas, red and black beans, as well as well as less fatty meats like lean pork, chicken and fish

Of course there are many other things which you can do to beat bad acne, so if this doesn’t work, try adding other things in too.
